Why Clincher® Wristbands
Wristbands help classify and track inmates by classification level, medication distribution, tracking, and commissary use. They help save time, money, and labor, while ensuring positive inmate identification.
Unlike badges, wristbands remain on the inmates at all times, including during showers, exercise, and sleep. Wristbands can be used for color coding and classifying inmates to provide at-a-glance identification enabling officers to easily detect whether inmates are in authorized areas. Clincher® wristbands are also non-transferable and specially designed to allow officers to detect tampering.
Clincher® IV has colored stripes and the Clincher® V has solid coloring. Both Photo wristbands are durable yet Clincher® V provides greater visibility from a distance due to the solid coloring of the band.
The benefit of plastic snaps is that a special tool isn’t needed to apply the plastic snaps to the wristbands. However, the dual grip metal fasteners are more durable than the plastic snap. To apply the metal fasteners, you must order our specially designed Clincher® Dual Grip Fastener Tool. Ultimately, the decision is based on facility needs. Some facilities do not allow their inmates to have any metal so they use plastic snaps.
A bar code on a wristband can easily hold 10 to 12 characters using code 128 (a widely used linear bar code symbology). More information can be stored on a 2 dimensional matrix bar code symbology. Radio frequency identification (RFID) wristbands can hold up to 256 characters in the band’s IC memory chip. Yes. We can imprint the facility name at an additional charge. Custom imprint the name and/or logo of your facility on each wristband. Just pennies per band, this economical option distinguishes your wristband and provides additional security.
NOTE: Custom imprinted wristbands are not returnable. Sample layout must accompany the order. Repeat imprints are shipped within 10-15 working days. New imprints are shipped within 10-15 working days after approval of artwork. Minimum order is one full box of wristbands
We also sell infirmary products and visitor wristbands. Infirmary products include patient ID wristbands, and cadaver bags. Please contact us for more info.
Once we confirm your order it will take approximately 5-10 business to ship. Expedited shipping methods are available at an additional cost. Your customer care representative can tell you about other shipping methods and costs if you need your products sooner.
All returns for credit require written authorization from PDC. To process a Return Merchandise Authorization form (RMA), contact Customer Care at 800.838.3683. Custom printed or serialized product is not returnable. Merchandise must be returned in full boxes, original packaging, and in good condition. Authorized returns must be received by PDC within 10 working days from date of issuance. PDC will allow returns under the following conditions:
- When ordered in error and if returned in less than 30 days of the date of invoice, freight to be prepaid by the customer. A 30% restocking fee will be assessed.
- When shipped in error by PDC, and returned within 30 days from date of invoice, full credit will be received including freight.
- Lead Times – 1-3 weeks after receipt of order. Minimum order of one box.

Yes. We sell 4″ and 12″ laminator machines.
For a properly laminated seal our laminator machines work best. Our laminators have been specifically tested for use with our wristbands. The average laminator machine heats up to 375 degrees, which will not seal the bands properly. Clincher® laminator machines heat up to 400 degrees to ensure a perfect seal every time when used correctly.
Yes. There is a 1 year warranty on parts. All machines must be returned to PDC for servicing.
